New Attendee Meeting & Welcoming Reception

The first evening of the conference gives you time to connect with your colleagues -- come to revisit with old friends or to meet new peers. A welcoming meeting for first-time attendees will occur at the Hilton Columbus Downtown. The Welcoming Reception for all attendees is a do-not-miss event that will occur offsite.

Welcome and Opening Plenary: Brash Thinking, Bold Ideas

SSTI's 2016 Annual Conference will open with a session focused on new and bold perspectives on the future of the innovation ecosystem. Speakers will present challenging ideas and attendees will share their perspectives and questions.

Lunch with Keynote and Excellence in TBED Awards Ceremony

A keynote session will highlight the lunch hour with a talk on the role the innovation ecosystem as a whole plays in broader society.

Following the keynote, the winners of the 2016 SSTI’s Excellence in TBED Awards will be presented in a special ceremony. The awards program is designed to celebrate exceptional achievement in TBED as well as offer practitioners and policymakers examples of successful approaches that are being employed by others.

Breakout Sessions

Two sets of breakout sessions will occur during the afternoon of November 2. Sessions will fall into the general categories of access to capital, cluster development, higher education and practitioner support.

National Innovation Reception

Join your colleagues for an opportunity to unwind after a day of engaging dialogue. The National Innovation Reception is your chance to catch up with old friends and network with colleagues from around the country.

Dine-Around Columbus

Dine-arounds are the perfect cap to the evening. We'll make the reservations at some of the best neighborhood eateries and coordinate your dining companions -- all you have to do is show up for great food and conversation. Stop by the registration desk to sign up for a specific dine-around.
