New Pathways to Innovation: Columbus Maker (and Related) Spaces Tour

Join us for a tour of three of Columbus’ most dynamic contributors to a community of innovation, arts, and STEM-based economic opportunities:

  • Columbus IDEA Foundry – the largest makerspace in the U.S.A., with a mission to democratize product design and manufacturing;
  • STEAM Factory at Ohio State University – founded outside of the university by faculty members seeking new ways forward to stimulate collaboration and innovation within and across institutions; and,
  • PAST Foundation and Innovation Lab – founded by anthropologists to create new approaches to STEM education K-12, they have attracted the interest of companies such as Honda for their contributions and development of talent in the region.

What lessons do these programs offer for your community? What have they done to become successful and what do they see as coming next?

Meet in George Bellows B on the lower level of the Hilton.
